Hello! I did not do a great job doing progress posts. I said I would be able to keep you all updated and I failed to do it and hold to my word. Here we are, nearly finished and I'm just now finding the time to sit down and actually post/write about the process! Thanks for being patient! Let me tell you, it was a process but it was so neat and fun!! Most of the time ;) So since this last post, all of the demo work started and here's what that looked like:

So there was just this tiny space that needed to be "filled in" with the new flooring. If only it was that simple! Joshua ended up having to take this entire half of flooring up to get it to lay right.

The beginning of taking all the flooring up. He was able to salvage a lot of the floors, but we had to purchase quite a bit more flooring to go down. Which was nice in a way because it's all new, but also, we didn't foresee that extra cost. Thankfully, it's only $0.89 per sq ft.
**Also, see our fridge? That stayed in the dining room the nearly the entire renovation process. When I look back to that, I cringe and thank the good Lord for helping me through that time period! Lol.

All the flooring needed to come up to fill in that tiny spot under the old island. . .

Old uppers off and out! This was the night of my little friend Addy's birthday party, so when I came home and the uppers had been removed, it really felt like it was all starting to happen again! After the floors were finished, it seemed to take some time to get going again on the process.

That paneling though. Reminds me of my grandparent's old home. Haha, warm memories, but not attractive! Lol.

Poor guy, about two to three weeks after he replaced the flooring after the initial tear out, the fridge ended up leaking and totally ruined the sub flooring and the new flooring that he and his brothers had laid after filling in the flooring under the original island. He then had to replace the sub flooring and had to tear out most (if not all, can't remember now) of all the NEW flooring. It was so sad, at this point I felt so bad for him and the whole situation. Thankfully we used most of the new flooring and only had to buy another two boxes of flooring. In total, the flooring got pulled up TWICE during the whole process. Bless. Some of you may remember this post from Instagram that I had posted that the whole top living are was open to the basement below when he had to replace the sub flooring and the new floors. Which I did NOT like as there was a snake in the basement this June and I was so not okay with our house being opened up like that to the snake pit!!! Lol!

There, all covered again!! PRAISE BE.

Flooring is all in place again, and we've got a *new* corner cabinet. EEK!!

Ah! We've got more cabinets!! My most favorite cabinets because of the glass front. Eventually, not now and maybe not ever if we build before we get there, I'd love to get glass shelves for these cabinets and add the lights inside. I believe Joshua wired for them. We may build and move before that ever happens, but I do think it would be so pretty! If we don't do it here, we will when we build!

In LOVE with all the trim. I'm a traditional gal through and through so I love trim work. :)

The day the lowers went in! It started feeling more and more like a kitchen again. During all this time we went without a sink in here, I also didn't have the stove hooked up and the fridge was in the dining room. I washed dishes in our laundry room and my coffee pot was also in there. I'm SO grateful that we had completed the laundry room first and had that sink! I guess I'd have had to use the bathroom to wash dishes if we didn't have the laundry sink.

Time for a hood! The only think I asked was for this to be a square with a shelf, then he made it look picture perfect. :')

Decided to add these pretty corbels on a whim. Initially, I thought we would. Then I forgot about it until walking through Lowe's one day and then mentioned it to Joshua and ended up getting these. Glad I did! Because they're just so lovely and I love seeing them!

Got a little excited and threw a picture up there to "see" what it would look like with something on that cutie little shelf. In the mean time, peek at the quartz that was installed below...

This quartz, I think it's called Calacutta Gold Quartz. It's got the white, gray, and bit of gold in there. When I saw it, I fell in love! It's so beautiful cool, yet warm at the same time. There's not a ton of gold. The vein above is the biggest and one of the few gold veins in the entire slab and I love it. We worked with All Granite out of Denver, NC. (If you're local, go check them out if you're needing countertops!) Joshua does a lot of business with them and gave us a huge discount on this slab. It had a pretty hefty price tag but they're really good to Joshua and gave it to us for 1/2 the price per sq ft! Blessings upon blessings!

My dreamy polished nickel sink faucet I tossed in there. I have no chill, when things come in, I want to see everything even before it's official install day or whatever. We also have this sink faucet in our laundry room in Chrome. It's lovely!

How dreamy, right? This day was so exciting for me. I will never again take countertops for granted. Ever. I love love how it all turned out!

Think I have finally found a light over the sink I like, this one from PB.

I thought that I wanted and still kind of do, but I was thinking of getting this pendant for above the island but this kitchen, since it was originally half the size when he bought the place, nothing is centered. So if we center the light above the island, it wouldn't be centered in this whole room (the other half of this side of the house is my "office" right now. Which is why it isn't pictured) and it wouldn't be centered between the cabinets and the window. Which makes my OCD crazy. So I think we'll do canned lighting and remove the booby light in the middle there. Also, thinking about these bar stools or these for the island. Decisions, decisions.

So here we are, cheers to you if you're still here, this has been long! This is where we are at today. To say it is completely finished, would be a lie. Lol. We still need to install the backsplash, change the light above the sink, and we're looking for a stainless steel range. Why are all the affordable range ovens just ugly? And why are pretty ovens $$$$$?? Lol. When we build, I will have a Hallman. In the mean time, trying to find a mostly stainless steel oven is the goal. Check out the photos of what this place looked like when Joshua first bought the place it 2012, I believe. It may have be 2013. Either way, these photos were this whole space now.

It is amazing to me to see how far Joshua went, and how far we've come once we got married and completely transformed the place.

Thanks for being here! It has been fun to share with you all.
